Richard Darch and Hywel Rees have more than 70 years combined experience in social and economic infrastructure to meet this urgent demand.

Hywel Rees

Co-Founder & Chief Executive

Hywel has spent almost 35 years working across infrastructure in sectors as diverse as social infrastructure, utilities and transportation as an operator, investor and adviser in the UK, Europe and Australia.

Beginning his career in the steel industry in 1991, Hywel went on to work with some of the world’s best known infrastructure businesses including Ferrovial and AMP Capital.

With a career in infrastructure defined by strong relationships across local, regional and national government, regulators and investors, Hywel has served on shared ownership company boards with local authority leaders, delivered some of the UK’s largest major projects for public bodies, and worked closely with regulators on complex situations.

Richard Darch

Richard has 30 years’ experience in healthcare and social infrastructure, a serial entrepreneur with three successful exits.

From academia, Richard moved into consulting, first with a big four practice and then founded SDC Consulting a niche healthcare consulting group. Richard grew the team to be a major healthcare advisory group in the UK and sold the company in 2003.

Richard then founded Infracare in its first incarnation as a specialist developer/funder of healthcare infrastructure.

In 2017 Richard founded Archus, a healthcare infrastructure advisory practice and grew the company rapidly prior to a partial exit  in 2023.

Richard is a recognised thought leader in health and social infrastructure.
